Employment Options is an approved member of the Department of Education and Children Development Panel of Preferred Providers for the provision of ICAN Flexible Learning Programs.

We can tailor a flexible learning program to meet a wide variety of needs. Programs are designed for groups of 10-15 young people, and can be delivered in schools or in community facilities, and are designed in consultation with students and schools to make sure the program best fits the outcomes required.

Community Living, Personal Development and Communication Skills

  • Finances- Budgeting, Banking
  • Independent living: Rental, Cleaning, Shopping
  • Healthy food on a budget - including preparing a me
  • Healthy Relationships

  • Drug and alcohol education/drug safety
  • Recreational activities: Arts/craft, music
  • Personal presentation
  • Communication skills
  • Confidence and Self Esteem

Career Development/Employability Skills

  • Career preferences and aptitudes exploration
  • Career research
  • Training Options – TAFE/University/traineeship/apprenticeship/pathways
  • Writing a job application
  • Employer expectations
  • Attending an interview
  • Field Trips – research industry options
  • Basic WHS

Completing a Learner Driver’s Licence Test

  • Internal training with learners test

Community Engagement

  • Community work activities which contribute to the Integrated Learning component of SACE

This service is funded through the SA Government FLO program.

Eligible young people are:

  • from Year 6 level to age 21
  • disengaged from school/education
  • referred through the school FLO system
