Employment
Options Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation which is dedicated to
providing high quality employment services to people in our local communities,
especially to those who are unemployed and those who are disadvantaged in the
labour market.
Our History
We can trace our origins back to 1975, when a group of community members got
together to address the growing problem of youth unemployment in the Fleurieu
region, and sponsored the Community Youth Support Scheme until 1988.

In
1989, the SkillShare program was established by the Commonwealth government,
and projects were set up in both Goolwa and Mt Barker by two separate
organisations. Both started with nothing except some donated desks and chairs,
and modest funding grants from the government.
From
humble beginnings, both SkillShares provided training courses and employment
services from Lobethal to Kangaroo Island, and together helped about 600 people
per year.
In 1998, Job Network replaced the SkillShare program, enabling us to broaden
the range of services we offer, and to increase the number of people we help.
Today we provide a range of employment and career related
programs and services to more than 2500 people each year.
